The Chevrolet Equinox and Chevrolet Equinox EV share a familiar name and a similar mission: provide the space and versatility of a compact SUV in a manageable, everyday package. How they accomplish that goal, however, is very different.
The conventional 2027 Chevrolet Equinox uses a turbocharged gasoline engine and offers available all-wheel drive, while the Equinox EV replaces the combustion powertrain with an entirely electric architecture and offers more than 500 kilometres of estimated range in front-wheel-drive form.

Gasoline vs. Electric Power
The regular Equinox uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering conventional refuelling convenience for frequent long-distance travel or areas with limited charging infrastructure.
The Equinox EV eliminates gasoline entirely. The front-wheel-drive version provides up to 513 kilometres of estimated range on a full charge, while the all-wheel-drive version offers up to approximately 494 kilometres, making daily commuting without public charging stops straightforward when charging at home.
Quebec Winter Capability
Both models offer available all-wheel drive, an important consideration for drivers around Île-Perrot and throughout Quebec.
While the gasoline Equinox sees slightly higher fuel consumption in cold weather, the Equinox EV's range can be temporarily reduced by low temperatures. To address winter conditions, the Equinox EV includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, and cabin preconditioning capability while plugged in.
Technology and Display Area
The 2027 gasoline Equinox features an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in functionality. The Equinox EV expands digital interface area significantly with a 17.7-inch centre touchscreen, one of the largest displays in its class, alongside an 11-inch Driver Information Centre.
Cargo Versatility and Trims
The conventional Equinox provides up to 1,798 litres of maximum cargo volume with the rear seats folded, compared to 1,620 litres in the Equinox EV.
- Gasoline Equinox Trims: Includes the sport-styled RS and the adventure-oriented ACTIV with all-terrain tires and unique suspension tuning;
- Equinox EV Trims: Offered in LT and RS forms, combining black exterior accents and 21-inch wheels with EV efficiency and advanced technology.
Towing and Safety Features
The gasoline Equinox can tow up to 680 kg (1,500 pounds) when properly equipped. The Equinox EV features over 20 standard safety and driver assistance features, including Chevy Safety Assist, HD Surround Vision, and available Super Cruise hands-free driving capability.
Both compact five-passenger SUVs deliver everyday practicality, allowing buyers around Île-Perrot to choose between conventional convenience and zero-emission electric driving.
