New Horizons for Buick

Buick officially introduced its all-new, redesigned logo earlier this month via a short video. Note that no changes have been made since 1990 and that this new logo will appear on certain Buick models starting next year! In addition, Buick is planning an electric shift by 2030 and is offering us a very first model of electric vehicle, starting in 2024.

A more modern logo

We can see that the three colors, red, white and blue are preserved and are in the same order. In addition, the three emblematic shields, which refer to the ancestral heraldry of the founder, David Dunbar Buick are also preserved. However, we can notice that the three shields are now side by side instead of being placed diagonally and that the logo is no longer circular, but more rounded for a more aligned and elegant look. It should also be mentioned that the strip from the center of the shields is curved and continues to the end, instead of stopping in the middle. We can also expect future models to take inspiration from the new flowing lines of the logo.

In addition to a new logo, Buick offers us a new brand identity which brings its share of changes and should take place during next year. We will be entitled to a new typography, a new color palette and a new marketing approach, not to mention the changes in terms of physical and digital properties.

A completely electrifying turn

Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick also announced that the brand will become fully electric by the end of the decade and that a first electric vehicle will debut in 2024. Drawing inspiration from the brand's history, all future electric vehicles will bear the name Electra.

We were able to see some images of the Buick Wildcat EV concept vehicle, which reflects the style that the brand will adopt with its future electric vehicles. With its coupe-style silhouette, its pointed hook-shaped headlights that are equipped with micro-LED lighting technology, the Wildcat EV offers us an innovative look! As for the interior, we can see the presence of a console that continues to the rear, as well as a large screen located in the dashboard. New technological concepts that integrate artificial intelligence and biometrics are also planned. For example, when the driver's heart rate is high, Zen mode will be activated, dimming the cabin lights, activating the massaging seats and diffusing soothing fragrances.

Buick has yet to share technical details, but only confirmed the arrival of a first electric vehicle for 2024.
