GM will publish its results every three months to improve management!
The American automaker General Motors (GM) will now publish its sales figures in the United States on a quarterly rather than a monthly basis, as it’s been doing for the past several years.

GM managers state that quarterly results are easier to decipher in terms of trends. This will make it easier to analyze true market trends.

A thirty-day report is too quick

In a highly competitive market, it’s not always easy to distinguish between a trend and circumstance. For example, if a storm or flood affects multiple regions, monthly sales will be affected, but in no way illustrate a market trend. In short, managers are saying that thirty days isn’t long enough.

Publishing on a quarterly basis will better respond to the constraints of the automotive sector and it will be easier to identify the actual performance of each brand and each market segment.

After years of record sales, the U.S. market is starting to run out of steam, yet GM engineers and designers aren’t done yet as they’ve launched some true automotive jewels  in the last few years.

The next sales report, for the second quarter, is expected on July 3. The others are scheduled for October 2 for the third quarter and January 23, 2019 for the fourth and final quarter.
