Powered by a 1.2L or 1.3L turbo engine, the Trailblazer delivers up to 155 hp. Both engines are mated to a standard continuously variable gearbox with stop / start capability. The nine-speed automatic transmission is standard on Trailblazer models equipped with the 1.3L engine and all-wheel drive.

The Trailblazer is available with Chevrolet Selectable All-Wheel Drive, also found in the Blazer and Traverse. Selectable all-wheel drive allows the driver to turn it on for off-road or inclement weather driving and turn it off when no longer needed, to reduce fuel consumption.
