Buick and GM lead J.D. Power's 2022 Initial Quality Study

J.D. Power has released the results of its annual New Vehicle Initial Quality Study, and it's safe to say that Buick and GM are on top. In 2022, more than 84,000 owners of vehicles from the year 2022 completed this study, which aims to compile the number of problems reported. The number of problems reported per 100 vehicles during the first 90 days of ownership was used to create a ranking among the 33 manufacturers.

Buick in the front row
Buick has made a strong comeback and climbs to the top of the rankings with the fewest reported problems for 2022. Indeed, 139 problems per 100 vehicles have been reported for Buick, which results in the brand winning the first position.

GM first globally
That's not all, General Motors won the title of manufacturer with the fewest problems per 100 vehicles and won the most awards for its models with nine awards.

Chevrolet outdoes itself
Additionally, Chevrolet received the most awards per segment of all participating brands and the brand jumped to third place overall. Indeed, the Chevrolet Corvette won the title of best specific model.
