The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2: The
The Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has been the best-selling pickup truck since it first hit the market and it’s also perfect for weekend warriors.

This truck is as comfortable in off-road cross-country as it is for commuting, so the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is no longer the only option on the market. That's why the new 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 could make customers think twice before driving to local Toyota dealerships.

The prizes are stacking up

The Chevrolet Colorado has been a midsize top choice since it was named Truck of the Year in 2015 and 2016. For the 2017 model, Chevy transformed the Colorado's proven formula into the Colorado ZR2, ready for off-road, snow storms or the desert.

With this modified pickup, wider (90 mm) and taller (50 mm) than other versions of the Colorado, the ZR2 is now equipped with enhanced bumpers that allow for better departure and approach angles. In addition, large protective plates let you drive up and around offroad obstacles without fear of breaking anything.

An uncompromising powertrain

Unlike the Tacoma TRD Pro V-6, the Colorado ZR2 has two powertrains.  A new 3.6-liter V-6 and eight-speed automatic combination is also planned for 2018.

The new V-6 has 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque and features cylinder deactivation and other fuel saving technologies. The optional Duramax I-4 turbodiesel 2.8-liter delivers 191 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. It has a six-speed automatic transmission. It has less power than that of the V-6, but that’s offset by torque and fuel savings
