2018 Spring Break and museums

Passion: Hockey from November 25 to March 11, 2018

100 years of passion beating to the rhythm of hockey and, especially, our Montreal Canadiens. To gather together all the hockey admirers in the same place, the Pointe-à-Calière Museum has prepared for you the largest exhibition of all time on the oldest and the most mythical team in the national league.

You’ll discover that it was a group of hockey teams owners from Quebec and Ontario who united to form the National Hockey League. The event will celebrate the Montreal Canadiens and the 125 years of the Stanley Cup, and will help us discover hockey’s roots!

Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec

The Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec offers a wide variety of visual art workshops and courses to let children and adults express their creativity. It’s through gesture and imagination that we approach works of art. You can participate in many workshops, including;

  • 1. Luxuriant workshop: Created flowers, colourful, climbing or surreal, take inspiration from Pellan’s flowers to create a small garden, to add colour to winter
  • 2. Portrait on a rod: Imitate the great master Alberto Giacometti and sculpt your companion’s portrait
  • 3. Use your pencil: Drawing workshops in the collection rooms, inspired by the new exhibitions at Pavillon Pierre Lassonde. Beginners and apprentices are welcome!
  • 4. SILQ drawing contest: Take part in the drawing contest, in conjunction with the Salon du Livre de Québec
  • 5. Bust sculpture: Take inspiration from Alberto Giacometti's stone sculptures to sculpt a portrait bust.

In short, the National Museums create activities for families and their children, that are truly out of the ordinary. If you haven’t visited a museum lately, take your family to a museum and discover your children’s hidden talents at the hands of actual professional artists.
